bernard · ways to price
A demonstration site. The courses and prices are examples, made to show what bernard can do.
A small pottery school uses every pricing option bernard has. Each section below shows one option: what it is, what the buyer sees, what to say to Bernard, and the rules that keep it fair. You say what you want in your own words; Bernard sets it up as a draft and shows you a table of every price before anything changes.

The simplest way to sell a course. The buyer pays once and keeps the course for ever.
Use it for a course people come back to for years, such as a reference or a safety guide.
Sell Kiln Notes for £59.99, pay once and keep it.

Glaze Explorers · £90 for 12 months
One payment gives access for a fixed time, for example a year. It is not a subscription: nothing is charged again. When the time ends, access stops.
Use it for teaching you update often, or to price lower than lifetime access.
You can also say once how long everything on your site lasts (the default term). Each course can still have its own.
Make Glaze Explorers £90 with 12 months of access.

Anyone can enrol with their email address. They join your contacts, so a free course is a good first step towards a paid one.
Make Clay Taster a free course people can join with their email.

Throwing on the Wheel · £200, £250 or £350
Sell the same course in different ways, each with its own label and price. The buyer picks one. The page says "From £200".
Pottery sells Throwing on the Wheel three ways: on its own, with 3 months of the Pottery Club, or with 12 months of the club.
Sell Throwing on the Wheel three ways: on its own for £200, with 3 months of the club for £250, and with 12 months of the club for £350.

With 3 months or 12 months of the club
A version can include months of your membership. You choose what happens when the months run out:
Bernard writes the sentence the buyer reads beside the button and on the receipt.
With 3 months of the club, the club then carries on at the monthly price unless they cancel. They cancel from the link in any club email.
Club members pay £100
Your members can have a lower price. Bernard shows it only to a member who has signed in, and checks their sign-in again at checkout. Typing an email address is not enough.
A visitor who is not a member can join the club and buy the course in one checkout: "£130 today, then £30 a month". They keep the course if they leave the club later.
Members of the Pottery Club pay £100 for Throwing on the Wheel, and visitors can join the club to get that price.

Pottery Club · £30 a month or £250 a year
A membership is a regular payment that opens courses, a private forum room or both. Visitors choose monthly or yearly on the join page. A member can switch later. A move to yearly happens at once. A move to monthly waits until the paid year ends.
When you change a price, you choose what happens to people who already pay:
Raise the Pottery Club to £30 a month for new members, and keep existing members on £25.
Kiln Notes + Glaze Explorers · £140
Sell two to eight courses together for one price. The bundle shows on the page of each course in it, with what it saves.
"Complete the set" is for someone who already owns one of the courses. After they sign in, they see a price for only the courses they do not have. You choose one of three rules:
Sell Kiln Notes and Glaze Explorers together for £140, and let people who own one of them complete the set.

Raku Weekend Workshop · 6 places · £480 or 3 × £150
Places. Set how many people can buy. The page shows "4 places left", then "Sold out". A checkout holds a place for a short time so two people cannot take the last one. A refund frees the place.
Paying in parts. The buyer pays a first part today and the rest monthly. Access starts with the first part. If a later part fails, access pauses until it is paid. When the last part is paid, payments stop.
Put both prices and the limit on the same course, so the pay-at-once and pay-in-parts buyers share the 6 places.
The Raku Weekend has 6 places. People can pay £480 at once, or 3 monthly payments of £150.

Six codes on the pottery site
A code takes a percentage or an amount off. You choose what it works on: everything, or named courses, bundles and products. Buyers type it under "Have a discount code?".
| Code | What it does | Limits |
|---|---|---|
AUTUMN15 | 15% off everything | Ends 31 December 2026; 50 uses in total |
GLAZE10 | 10% off Glaze Explorers | Ends 30 November 2026; 20 uses |
WELCOME10 | £10 off a first order | Only for someone who has never bought from you, here or on your old platform |
STUDIO20 | 20% off Throwing on the Wheel | Once per person |
RAKU50 | £50 off the Raku Weekend, paid at once | 3 uses |
THANKS-MAGGIE | Kiln Notes free | A personal code: only Maggie's email address can use it, once |
Make a code AUTUMN15 for 15% off everything until the end of December, at most 50 uses.
Honest gaps
Bernard says so when you ask for one of these. He does not build a different setting that only looks the same.
Setting it up
Buyers can pay only after your own Stripe account is connected. Until then your pages say "Enrolment opens soon". You can still check every price in the course preview with "See it as if on sale".
